Augmented Business Intelligence or Augmented BI is the process of using a mobile device to scan an image or a barcode and overlaying metrics and or charts onto the image. This facilitates the process of a store manager moving around a retail store and would like more information about that products sales performance. Once the product is identified either by barcode or image recognition, a query can be done to the data warehouse to retrieve information and overlay on the mobile device. Then the store manager can take action or just be informed about the item.
